Adult Summer Reading

EAST CHICAGO (June 7, 2017) – The East Chicago Public Library will be hosting “Reading By Design” Adult Summer Reading Program from June 12  through July 28  at the Main Library located at 2401 E. Columbus Dr., and at the Pastrick Branch library located at 1008 W. Chicago Ave.  Registration begins Monday, June 12.  Registrations will be taken at the reference desk at both library locations. Participants will earn a scratch off ticket for every two books read and a scratch off ticket for every program attended. Participants must be signed up for the summer reading program to receive a ticket. Come join us as we kick off our adult summer reading program on Monday, June 12 at 5:00 PM at the Main Library, 2401 E. Columbus Drive. Light refreshments will be served, crafts will be made, come and groove to some music, and sign –up for summer reading. A “Thank You for Reading – Summer Reading Cookout” will be held at the conclusion of the program on Thursday, August 3 at 5:00 p.m. at the Main Library. Refreshments will be served and the grand prize drawing winner and top three readers will be announced and prizes handed out.
The program is free and open to all adults 18 years of age or older.  Participants must have a valid East Chicago Public Library card.
