The East Chicago Public Library system will be closed Monday, February 18 in observance of President’s Day.
The closing applies to both the Main Library, 2401 Columbus Drive, and the Pastrick Branch Library, 1008 W. Chicago Ave. The closing also applies to the library’s community centers: Owens, King, Marktown, and Roxana.
Regular library hours will resume Tuesday, February 19 Main and Pastrick Branch hours are from 9 A.M. to 8 P.M. Monday through Thursday, and 9 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Friday and Saturday.  Please call the library for hours of service for the reading rooms in the community centers.

Best Selling Author Teams Up with ECPL for Writing Workshop

EAST CHICAGO – Best Selling Author, SaDon Long, author of “God Wants You to Dominate” which peaked a #1 on Amazon’s Best Seller List for Business Mentoring and Coaching is coming to the East Chicago Public Library to assist authors in building business around their writing. He will be helping published and would be published authors in how to turn their writing gift into new business opportunities. The event will feature a two-hour intensive workshop to help published authors solve many problems that writers face today.
  SaDon is a member of the Epic Launch family, which includes other best-selling authors like Peter Voogd and the Legendary Brian Tracy. The event will be held on Wednesday, March 6th at 5:00 p.m. at the Main Library, 2401 E. Columbus Dr. The workshop will specifically cover:
