Local Author to Host Book Discussion at ECPL

Local, award-winning author Rosemary Gard of Crown Point, Indiana will will host a book discussion at the main library of the East Chicago Public Library, 2401 East Columbus Drive, on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at 1:00 p.m.
Gard is the author of the "Destiny" series of novels about the lives of Slavic immigrants and their journeys to America in the late 1800s and early 1900s.

The books take place across Europe, then moves to Gary, Indiana and eventually New Orleans. Gard will also have an assortment of handmade textiles on display, given to her as part of her dowry by her Croatian relatives during the 1950s. The author will also speak on the "perils and perks of self-publishing," offering advice for writers who wish to explore self-publishing their work. Aspiring authors are urged to attend. The event is free and open to the public.
